All Saints Church Hartford. originally built in 1180 on the site of a Roman watch tower Amongst other interesting artifacts, if you are lucky the church may be open. On the South(right) wall is a stained glass window of Francis Dickerson aged 10, a vicars son, who drowned in 1885 http://www.allsaintshartford.org.uk/history.htm
Hartford is a village ajoining Huntingdon on the B1514 to St Ives. With shop, pubs and neaby marina with restaurant.
Start your walk either from the Church (off road parking) or Free Hartford Riverside carpark down Church lane PE251XP found by leaving the road two junctions before the road to the church. It is worth the breif detour down the Lane to the Church and back. Then proceed in the Huntingdon direction (west).

Continue on the path where it forks left towards a wooden bridge.(unless you want to walk onto the main road for the shop and Public House). Avoid the rough path which follows the back of the houses.

You may be lucky and see a swans nest in April or May. Swans mate for life and both help incubate the eggs. They are very protective of each other and can be quite aggressive. Avoid leaving food on the bank as this attracts rats which could compromise the nest.
