Portholm Meadow
Huntingdon to Godmanchester
There is limited road side parking at the very end of the Road under the A14 or a municipal carpark on Mill Common Huntingdon (Read the signs carefully).
You may also begin via Castle park from Walk #1, which is accessed via a path down a private road called Castle Hill parallel to the Huntingdon side of the A14
At times Portholm is blocked by floods, and crossing is not recomended when the ground is water logged.
There are various waymarked paths Right or straight to Godmanchester or Left to Brampton. With the choice of walking around the meadow by the minor branch of the Ouse or straight across aiming for a point about 10 O'clock until you can see Godmanchester Church Spire.

You may be lucky and see a swans nest in April or May. Swans mate for life and both help incubate the eggs. They are very protective of each other and can be quite aggressive. Avoid leaving food on the bank as this attracts rats which could compromise the nest.
